Meet Robert Hyma
Hello everyone! I’m a writer, which has largely been a secret to just about everyone. I’ve been writing since I was a teenager and haven’t shown anyone my work. Why is that, exactly?
Well, a few things:
- A general unwillingness to show anyone anything,
- A love-affair with writing a massive novel that eludes completion,
- And, finally, being otherwise busy in the way life tends to make all of us.
Enter: quarantine and more free time.
Like so many during the pandemic, I’ve turned to unfinished projects that deserve a second chance; this website being one of them. It’s been in the works for a while, but I think now is as good a time as ever to showcase some stories that might help.
In short, this website is a collection of things I’ve written over the years.
I know reading short stories online isn’t for everyone. Even I have a hard time understanding who reads a short story on a personal website—
(Seriously, who does that?)
But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned about stories, it is this:
Short stories are like songs; either they are your jam or they are not.
So, if you’re the kind of person who likes to jam to the music I make (meaning, stories), then this is the place for you. I write all kinds of genres, styles, and I’m sure there’s something here for just about everyone.
